The work commemorates Nellie, an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin born at Marineland Florida in 1953. In 2014 at Marineland, 61-years-old Nellie, as world’s oldest dolphin in captivity, passed away. Nellie was a fan favorite by performing her famous hula-hoop trick. She starred in several TV shows and a commercial for Timex Watches.
